Visca restaurant in Milan

Recreating Sicilian atmospheres and colours in the centre of Milan was the idea behind the renovation project for the Visca gourmet restaurant carried out by MARGstudio with extensive use of Play, one of ABK’s most original collections. “We imagined the restaurant as a venue where guests could enjoy a gastronomic experience surrounded by the colours and sensations of the island,” explains interior designer Annalisa Grasselli. “The materials were chosen by combining functionality and aesthetics. Terrazzo-effect porcelain proved the perfect combination of these two aspects.” The style of the restaurant is an interesting blend of vintage Mediterranean and metropolitan atmospheres.
“The Play Drops collection from ABK was ideal for our project because the terrazzo texture is reminiscent of old Sicilian and Milanese floor tiles, while the colour palette coordinates with that of the restaurant,” continued the interior designer. “The 20x20 cm size enabled us to use the same ceramic tiles on both the floor and the walls, and even on the tabletops.” The ceramic surfaces help to define the aesthetics of the location while delivering the technical characteristics that make them ideal for use in public spaces.
